The retirement of Bishop Mckenna.....

We are all saddened to hear of the retirement of His Excellency Bishop Robert Fidelis Mckenna OP. Bishop Mckenna is the spiritual father and leader to many, many Catholics throughout the world. He was the pastor of Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel in Monroe, CT where he administered the Sacraments to traditional Catholics for decades.  Bishop Mckenna has devoted his whole life to the Catholic Church and the following of the Dominican rule. His Excellency can always be found praying tirelessly in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament. He will be sorely missed by parishioners there. Bishop Mckenna is also the last remaining Dominican Bishop and the head of the Order. I was blessed enough to be professed into the Dominican Third Order earlier this year and I can say that he is the most saintly man I have ever been blessed to meet. Bishop Mckenna's last Mass as the pastor in Monroe was on Sunday, October 23, 2011.

Father Rodriguez is the Bishop's successor at the chapel in Monroe and he will definitely be in our prayers with such big shoes to fill. His Excellency will always remain our prayers and our thoughts.

St Dominic, pray for us!
St Catherine of Siena, pray for us!
St Thomas Aquinas, pray for us!
